Correcting a False Preemption Message

Problem: Helix launches but complains that the owner has preempted you from the network. You are not on a network or are certain that your copy of Helix is not being used by someone else.

Preemption Dialog

Solution: Open the Chooser, make AppleTalk "Inactive", dismiss the dialog boxes warning you to make sure you are disconnected from the network, and make AppleTalk "Active" again. If you normally take advantage of other network services, you might need to restart your Macintosh to reestablish those services.
